Sajid-Wajid have always given superhit albums to Salman Khan films (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Partner and Wanted being the latest example). I think Salman has a special liking for the composers and keep repeating them in his films.

The first track, 'Don't Say Alvida' is an instant hit on first time hearing. The composition is very nostalgic. Like the songs, which we have heard and enjoyed in the 90s. So the old world charm works big time for this song. Sonu Nigam is as usual wonderful. And I am always in love with Shreya Ghoshal, so its obvious that I like her singing in every song. Suzanne D'Mello  gives the backup vocals, mainly the English chorus lines, which I feel wasnt necessary in the song. The lines, Dont say Alvida, is straight out of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Lol. But there are a lot of lovely words used by Junaid Wasi like, taqalluff and taruff and all. Unusual, and very nice to hear. Sonu gives enough stress to the pronounciations as well. A readymade superhit romantic track, which works because of the nostalgia factor and the melody. (5/5)

The next track, 'Happening ' is a qawwali item number. Something very similar to Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli. It has been picturised on Preity Zinta who comes in a special appearance. This song is by Sunidhi Chauhan who is supported by Wajid, Uvie, Farhad and Raja Mushtaq. The lyrics are by Jalees Sherwani. It is a very catchy number. But doesnt rise to the level of Kajra Re. The music, lyrics and vocals are all perfectly in sync with the qawwali mood. Happening is the phrase which keeps repeating often. I didnt like that part much. But on repeated hearings, I found it quite ok. At least, its so much better than the usual weird lyrics we keep hearing in recent songs. The harmonium bits are brilliant. All in all, a very catchy number which is very similar to Kajra Re, but still works. (4/5)

We have heard Kailash Kher going 'Ya Rabba' in Salaam-E-Ishq (which was a brilliant song). Here, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sings 'Rabba' in the same mood. A slow, soulful track with a sad mood. It would be composed for some conflict situation in the movie and would work as a situational number. The song has nothing new but still, is not bad. Its the usual sad number we have been used to hearing. The lyrics by Jalees Sherwani have a strong Punjabi flavour, basically dealing with the theme of separation. A good hear which would work well in the movie (provided the movie is good). (3/5)

The starting of 'Tum Ne Socha ' sounds exactly like 'Soniyo ' from Raaz 2. But the song becomes completely different later on, though it has shades of 'Soniyo' throughout. A light romantic number, which is good to hear. Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal do the vocals. Wajid is quite impressive as a singer. A different voice and he's at ease singing the high pitch parts as well. Shreya, as usual, does very well. All in all, a nice romantic song which should be a nice addition to the film. (3.5/5)

The next track is 'Mrs.Khanna' is a fun number. The vocals are mainly by Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan supported by Bappi Lahiri, Newman Pinto and Suzanne D'Mello. Its a peppy number with a lot of Dhol beats and sounds very similar to 'Pretty Woman' from Kal Ho Naa Ho. Though it doesnt have the energy of Pretty Woman, its still a pretty decent number. Should work well in the movie. May catch on when the promos are out. Decent track. (3/5)

There is also a sad version of 'Dont Say Alvida' by Shreya Ghoshal which is again very good because of the melody. The pathos mood comes across well. (4/5)

I would not like to go into the remix versions as I am never interested in remix versions of good songs.

So all in all, the album doesnt have one bad track. 'Dont Say Alvida' is the pick of the lot. It has superhit written all over it. There are catchy numbers like 'Happening' and 'Mrs Khanna' as well. And one sad number 'Rabba' and one more romantic number 'Tum Ne Socha'. Have to wait for the movie now to see how all this would work in it. Salman is doing a complete romantic movie after long. It would be interesting to see that.

Rating - 3.5/5
